INSTRUCTIONAL PACKAGES

Cyber Wellness for Parents

Parents play a pivotal role in shaping how children perceive and navigate in this globalized digital world. It is even more difficult to protect children from the cyber world nowadays as many cyber issues have become more prominent real-world challenges. This instructional package would help parents effectively acquire a more in-depth and comprehensive understanding in Cyber Wellness.

This was my capstone project in my master's course at Nanyang Technological University. The project encompassed the development of an instructional package or learning course, training needs analysis for learners, and evaluation of the learning course. The e-learning course was completed and implemented to 2 target group of learners consisting of 11 parents and 6 parents respectively.

Copyright E-Learning Courseware

This was an e-learning package to educate students in copyright matters. Teachers can choose to use it in blended learning, or implement a full e-learning lesson to be completed outside class or in class. Students would be able to learn at their own pace and time, with captivating graphics, animations, videos, and audio. These would enhance students’ motivation and interest of the topic. Effective instructional approach and strategies were also incorporated into the e-learning package to make it meaningful and effective for self-learning and synchronous collaboration learning.

Intellectual Property Flipped Classroom

This is a blended learning lesson designed for Secondary 2 students learning about intellectual property. Students are to finish Part 1 of the e-learning lesson at home, in the school’s library, or in the computer labs that are opened during their free time before coming for the face-to-face class session. For Part 2 of the lesson, it will be a face-to-face learning session in a computer lab. Student interest in the topics is important to get them to complete their e-learning task and independent studies. When designing this type of lesson, it is important to incorporate interactive and engaging activities. We also need to make sure students can manage their time well and have the self-discipline and responsibility to finish their independent learning. As young learners, they may face difficulties in these aspects but these are lifelong skills and habits they need to cultivate.
